As always, I start the history of an area with a few trade directories, Pubs and
census data. This is a difficult area, due to the nature of how wide spread the
parish is. Looking at a modern map, and locating some of the farms you realise
that Little Warley is virtually in Cranham & North Ockendon at one point. The
[modern] parish is split by the modern A127 Southend Arterial & near to the M25
motorway. I will follow with an enumerators steps through the 1901 census, to
make this clearer, even if this is just for my own sake!
